Goddess Who Sells Time

“Goddess Who Sells Time" is a site-specific installation built from discarded materials gathered in the neighborhood of India, recycled animal skins, bamboo scaffolding, construction belts, and local calendar paper. At its core is a riddle assembled from phrases written for Dalit and other working-class residents; viewers must reorganize the fragments, offering their time and attention as part of the work. Installed in a community shaped by caste tension, the piece triggered mixed responses, curiosity, confusion, and even acts of damage, turning public reaction into an essential layer of the artwork. It stands as a temporary, open altar for those excluded from traditional temples and institutions, built from the city’s own remains and completed by the people who engage with it.
